Description
Viridine, chemically known as Phenyl Acetaldehyde Dimethyl Acetal, is a colorless, clear liquid widely used in perfumery as one of the most important acetal aroma ingredients. Although typically used in small amounts, it plays a significant role in shaping fragrance compositions due to its versatile and impactful scent profile. It features a pleasant floral-rosy aroma with green nuances and subtle mushroom-like, earthy undertones, adding freshness, depth, and natural character to a wide range of fragrances.
Viridine blends exceptionally well with ingredients such as lavandin, oakmoss, vetiver, geranium, opopanax, and other acetals. It is especially effective in lilac, rose, muguet, and oriental bases, as well as woody-floral-spicy compositions containing methyl ionones. In gardenia, reseda, and carnation fragrances, it contributes a spicy foliage effect or introduces earthy, root-like nuances that balance sweet floral notes.
